Well isn’t this title a nice contradiction to the blog?!
And, juice?! Hey, we indulge on occasion, and what better time than to celebrate Jada’s 4th birthday?! And, yes. Four years has gone too fast.
Jada Turns 4
I was solo parenting this weekend (what’s new?), so the idea of hosting a birthday party completely stressed me out.
But, I wanted to something for my social butterfly.
I keep things fairly simple in my daily life, so that carried over to Jada’s birthday where we focused on what’s important (not a stressed out mama). We told her friends and classmates to meet at a local park (early) for donuts.
My dear friend Jess even surprised Jada with balloons. She was ecstatic! Balloons are always a winner in case you’re wondering.
I brought sidewalk chalk, and my friend Ashleigh picked up me with sand toys. Phew.
Other than keeping Cole out of trouble, I really enjoyed the time socializing and seeing my little girl so happy!
I tried to send the kids home with a balloon, but they got so tangled, I couldn’t make it happen. Fail.
Bonus: There was very little clean up (or prep). Win!
One she may want a more formal birthday party, but this is what works for us now. Keep things simple. Focus on the good stuff. How about a little update on my busy bee?
Jada at FOUR:
- she can write her name and copies most of the alphabet
- loves art – creates 2-4 drawings a day
- still naps occasionally
- loves to read together
- is a caring and protective big sister
- is tall & athletic (<–I’m biased, of course)
- loves to run, climb, twirl, pull herself up on bars
- talks all the time
- feeds Cooper twice a day
- wants to be hugged often
- plays with her Teddy, but not into dolls
- watches Daniel the Tiger, Thomas the Train, and Paw Patrol
She is pretty mature for her age, and I often have to remind myself to ease up and let her be little! New readers can check out Jada’s birth story.
How old are your kids? Any favorite birthday memories?
