Cole turned 11 months old on November 10th.
Uh. How is my baby 1 month away from smashing a cake for his first birthday?! Seriously. What?!
Cole is one tallish dude. He wears 18 month clothing most of the time. But, brands vary greatly, am I right?
The Cat & Jack line (pictured below) from Target seems true to size for him, so 12 month sizing actually is long enough.
I feel like he’s filling out a bit more too.
He’s still wants to explore. Everything. All the time.
Now, he’s cruising along furniture, standing on his own, and walking with support.
Jada was walking on her own by this age, so Spencer’s “encouraging” Cole to keep up with big sis. Always the coach.
He loves testing his voice and is most talkative with Jada, imitating her sounds.
This age is just so fun. It’s exhausting, don’t get me wrong. I’m always playing defense, finger swiping his mouth, keeping him from pestering Jada non-stop. But, it is fun to see his personality develop.
EATING & NURSING
His appetite for foods is increasing weekly.
Current favorites include bananas, blueberries, Dr. Praeger’s Spinach Littles, sweet potatoes, pears, and pancakes.
He is still nursing like a champ and is pretty attached to the concept, so I’m not sure when weaning is going to happen.
And, he nurses a lot for his age, four times a day and sometimes once at night. Now, that might be because I haven’t had to supplement with formula, but I’d be cool with a few less feedings!
We are getting better here. He will sometimes sleep through the night, and other nights he’s up once. Daylight savings time kind of threw everyone off, but we are back on track.
I bumped up his diaper size at night and think that has been a difference maker. Duh!
He loves and relies on his sound machine. I also have a heater in his room for the cooler nights as we keep the temperature low in our home. But on a sweat shirt, mkay?
He is very consistent and naps in the morning around 9:30 a.m., after I drop Jada off for school. Then, I wake him at 11:15–if he hasn’t woken up–so we can pick her up. He takes another nap around 2 p.m.
Jada has developed into a great big sister thus far. It probably helps that Cole is more fun to play with now!
She gets excited when Cole stands on his own or climbs the stairs (yikes!). Cole pretty much wants to follow Jada around copy her.
I freaking love them as crazy as they can make me!
I love simple, family time. As a baseball family, even the most basic happenings are special when we are all together, which can be rare.
Oh my goodness! Halloween was so much fun to see through the eyes of a three year old!
Striking a balance is an ongoing struggle for me. But, I recently decided I have to let some things slide, or I’m going to burn out. I do little things for myself each day to make me a better mom or person like exercise, keep our living space tidy, and get outside.
My kids see this and consider it part of our routine.
Hopefully, it’s fostering good habits for them.
Social media is awesome, but I can feel overwhelmed with it too. There are so many comparison traps.
One week, I didn’t turn on my computer because I felt this internal pressure to create and program workouts, or write blog posts, and I just wanted to slow down and be with my family. Now, I’m recharged!
