I’m guilty of wanting a turn key house, and everything in its place (like yesterday). But, that’s not happening.
Being a mom forces me to focus on what’s truly important right NOW.
Jada could care less what the house looks like as long as we are with her, right?
Or, as long as Cooper is present with a few books and stuffed animals!
Accordingly, I’m trying to balance the house to do list with keeping Jada active in her new community. (By the way, I haven’t applied to be a personal trainer at a local gym yet. I’m waiting till after baby boy is born to see how I can manage & begin to build online training programs in the meantime).
Besides the House Stuff
We visited the Glenview Public Library. It’s quite a facility!
Jada loved picking out books–even if it was because they were a certain color. Then, we played at the nearby park.
We’ve been able to take advantage of healthy placess like Mariano’s and Whole Foods (there’s one near Spencer’s office) too.
Most importantly, we are a family again after living apart for most of the summer.
Northwestern University is coming alive during football season, and Spencer is excited to get fall baseball practice started. Jada loves tailgating (me too), so we are all good!
While the house stuff slowly gets checked off, I’m practicing staying present during family time, my workouts, and adjusting to a new community.
How do you remind yourself to stay present and not get caught up in the to do list of life?
