Now that we are just north of Chicago, we got a taste of Chicago life this past weekend!
Spencer had a rare day off, so we thought we’d take advantage and visit the city of Chicago!
We took the Metra from our house, because it’s easier than finding parking downtown, and we thought Jada would love it!
She’s a big fan of trains and LOVED looking out the window during our ride.
Once we arrived at Union Station, we power walked to Millennium Park and the brand new Maggie Daley Park.
It was actually quite a workout and took us about 25 minutes to get there, so plan accordingly if you decide to hoof it.
I highly recommend visiting Maggie Daley Park if you have kiddos. We could’ve spent hours there.
There is so much to do in Chicago, right? But, while she’s just 2 years old, it’s not like we need to spend huge amounts of money on entertainment. Although, I’d love to visit the museums.
Dinner with Friends
That evening we had some of our close friends, Jess and Robbie over. Jess writes a beautiful blog called, Pumpkins and Peonies, where she shares delicious recipes, fashion, and life.
She and her hubby are expecting their first baby in January. So, we sipped water while the hubbies drank beer.
Jada was a big fan of Jess’, especially after Jess hooked her up with cupcakes!
A good night always ends in a cupcake mustache?
Tell me your favorite Chicago spots?
Or, tell me where we need to book our next trip!
