Wish us luck today, moving day, as we pack up and head north for new adventures!
Cooper has been working tirelessly to help me pack our items in preparation for the move.
First of all, we have so much to be grateful for. But, moving is simply stressful and wears me down, especially while I’m pregnant. I’ll be so glad to be settled. That said, there are quite a few things I’ll miss about our old house.
Things We Will Miss:
Our Garage Gym
I mean, it’s awesome, and my favorite place to start the day.
Here’s a post on how we built our home gym. The previous owners had put an epoxy finish on the floor, which is fabulous for keeping it clean.
Move In Ready
It was a fairly new build and all the finishes were updated.
The kitchen was highly functional, and simply the nicest we’ve ever had. Plus, there was no wasted space for us like a formal living room or dining room.
It’s proximity to the neighborhood park & elementary school was a big draw for us. Jada loves to climb, swing and slide.
And, it’s crawling with families. We LOVED our neighborhood!
Spencer had a short commute to work (less than 10 mins), and our area was driven by the University of Illinois.
That meant we took advantage of local events, feeling a real sense of community.
What I’m Excited For?
We will be just north of Chicago, so there will be plenty do like visit the lake, museums, pro sporting events, etc. I’m not a shopper, so access to shops is not a draw for me. However, I’m excited to have a Whole Foods and Trader Joes nearby along with lots of cute spots in Evanston.
Most of all, I’m excited to see Spencer transform the baseball program!
Chicago-area readers, any recommendations for our growing family?
