Yesterday, marked the halfway point in pregnancy #2 for us, so I’m 20 weeks pregnant!
I had my most recent check up in Chicago with my new doctor and really love her, so that’s a relief! I will go in August 11th for an ultrasound, and yes, we will find out the gender. I’m late to the party on this, because we switched health insurance mid-pregnancy, so scheduling has been a pain.
Baby is about the size of a mango at 6.5 in. & 10 oz.
Around 10-11 lbs so far, but the big gains are still ahead…waddle, waddle!
It’s already becoming an outtie, sort of. You can kind of see it through my shirts. My body is changing faster this pregnancy. Yikes!
He/she is active! I can feel the baby moving so much earlier this pregnancy, since my placenta is fundal (on top), not anterior like with Jada.
Workouts are going well, but I need more time to recover after heavy lifts or higher rep days. I listen to my body and ease up the next day.
Here’s a CrossFit WOD I did to “celebrate” the halfway point!
- 9 deadlifts 95#
- 6 hang cleans 95#
- 3 push jerks 95#
With plenty of rest in between rounds. Again, I’m not trying to set records. I’m focusing on maintaining lean muscle and fitness. And, running still feels good, so I’m going to keep doing that until it’s uncomfortable.
Fresh, seasonal foods for the win this time of year. Snack plates continue to be a favorite. I eat throughout the day, and smaller, more frequent meals seem to sit better with me.
It’s good. I’m still fairly comfortable, so other than bathroom breaks multiple times a night, I can’t complain.
She understands there’s a baby in mommy’s belly, but assumes zero responsibility as a sibling.
What advice do you have for the second half of pregnancy?
