Yesterday, Jada celebrated her 2nd birthday!
We had her 2 year check up today, and she is 35 3/4 in. tall (95th percentile) and weighs 31 lbs 2 oz (91st percentile)
She is very physical and pretty darn coordinated, so she loves to climb, run, exercise with mommy & daddy, and visit the park to swing.
She also loves, loves, loves to color and play with her legos. Reading is still a favorite and part of our daily routine. We read before nap time and bed time.
Now, that the weather is warm, she is all about her pool too.
Jada has been interested in communicating as soon as she could verbalize syllables. She usually narrates our daily activities. After she turned 18 months, Spencer and I really noticed a jump from saying a couple of words to actual phrases.
Now, she can repeat just about anything (uh-oh!), and clearly speaks in sentances, truly able to communicate.
You know what I love most? When she tells me, “Good job mommy!” during a workout.
She’s the best coach I have (besides Cooper).
She has always been a good eater, but is definitely going in phases with certain foods. Toddlers do that, right? For breakfast, green smoothies, bacon, and fruit are staples.
Lunch varies the most depending on my schedule, could be leftovers plus chopped up veggies & hummus, or a green smoothie if I need to get something healthy in her system! Dinner is usually a protein & more veggies. She snacks throughout the day, and loves the fruit & veggie pouches, and recently became obsessed with Welch’s fruit snacks.
Ice cream is still a favorite of hers (definitely my child!).
Jada sleeps through the night, about 8 p.m. to 6 or 6:30 a.m., and takes one afternoon nap from 1-3 p.m. She still needs this badly!
I’m big on her routine, and that seems to help her transition from activity to sleeping better too. Don’t get me wrong, she throws tantrums with the best of them!
Cooper continues to be the most patient, tolerant dog. I love him!! So does Jada!
She also gets a bit possessive when other kids ask to pet him, so we have been working on the “sharing” part. She understands we have to walk Cooper, then we can go to the park. She also likes to give him treats.
