I’m only a week late in celebrating Jada’s 9 month-old update. That’s not too shabby, right?
I can’t believe I captured a few shots with the “9 months” sticker visible. She’s a very active girl…sitting still won’t happen anymore will it parents?
Caught in the act.
Those stickers simply are too much fun to tear off!
She is a tall one! At her 9 month check-up, Jada weighed 20 lbs 13 oz (85th) and was 29.75 in. (off the charts).
(She also loved walking on the noisy tissue paper covering the examination table).
She fits some 9 month clothing, but needs the length of 12 month clothing now. Let’s hope for warm weather, so I don’t have to worry about pant length and can throw a pair of shorts on her!
Like I mentioned, she is a mover! I usually let her crawl all over our main floor withput restricting her exploration too much. I like to encourage her by spreading out toys in different areas.
She’s also been practicing walking along furniture and standing on her own.
I feel like those first steps are coming soon.
Sturdy books are still a favorite, especially ones with textures. She also has become quite adept at pointing to objects or people she wants to see, as well as pressing buttons that make sounds.
Cause and effect!
Always the outdoor girl, we are thankful the weather has slowly turned into Spring so she can watch daddy at work!
She made it 6 innings and probably could’ve made it the entire 9, but I thought I’d leave on a good note!
She is becoming more and more independent, wanting to feed herself.
She is at 3 meals a day in addition to nursing.
- Breakfast: diced bananas or oatmeal
- Lunch: veggies & a protein like chicken. At Grammy & Grandpa’s, she’ll have a fruit & veggie pouch and yogurt
- Dinner: veggies (peas, sweet potatoes, green beans) & protein (turkey muffins, cottage cheese, string cheese)
I have been sharing my food with her more often now that we have the go-ahead from her pediatrician. She can eat most things we eat, isn’t that crazy?!
Is this the 8th wonder of the world? If not, can you guys give me your secrets for getting your kids to sleep?!
She’s actually on a good schedule, so I shouldn’t complain. And, I really shouldn’t compare the last 3 weeks which have included her being sick and me being sick. Both likely threw off our routine.
This is her “protesting nap time, but falling asleep anyway” pose.
There are good nights and bad. The bad nights allow us to see how strong willed our little girl can be, and we know we’ll be thankful for that in the future.
I can’t have an update without including our “firstborn” Cooper. He is still amazing with her and makes me love him even more.
So much more than a dog. I will never understand people that get rid of their dogs when they have kids. Dogs add so much love to a child’s life. Jada is absolutely in love with her furry brother, climbing him, body surfing, pulling his ears, all without reprimand.
He also makes sure our kitchen floor is squeaky clean after Jada is done eating!
Here are Jada’s past updates:
- 1 month old
- 2 months old
- 3 months old
- 4 months old
- 5 months old
- 6 months old

Have a great day!
