Jada turned 8 months old last week!
Can I tell you how much harder it is to get a mobile 8 month-old to pose with a sticker on her onesie?
Yeah. That sticker was drooled on and torn off in a matter of seconds! But, I still managed to capture a few shots.
She is such a riot…and so freaking active too!
My long-legged, little girl.
I mentioned she started crawling at 6.5 months. Some time during month 7, she began pulling herself up on anything like couches, chairs, Cooper…
Never content to sit still.
Do you like the ottoman in the background acting as my “gate”? That won’t last.
My mom’s piano continues to be a favorite, and she pounds the hell out of the keys. I promise, you’ll smile at her instavideos.
She also is fascinated by remotes and phones. What is it about them?
Breastfeeding is going well, and I do cherish our bonding. But, I am looking forward to having my body back to myself. Moms, do you feel me? She feeds about 4 times a day and is up to 3 small meals of solids.
She loves to feed herself, so I’m trying to transition from mostly purees to soft foods she can pick up. Also, teething just started for her.
Those 2 bottom, front teeth are starting to make their presence known. She doesn’t seem too uncomfortable…yet. But, that leads us to sleep…
Well, she still doesn’t excel at this activity. But, she IS a baby.
Her bedtime routine is still bath at 7, nurse, and bedtime at 7:30-8. Typically, she wakes up once during the night. Now, part of it is likely due to teething & being uncomfortable (it has been multiple times a night on occasion). She’s slept though the night only a handful of times.
Typically the stomach sleeper, I captured this on the monitor.
She takes 2 naps a day: a short morning nap 30-45 mins and an afternoon nap around 2 hours. If she could sleep on someone all the time, she would!
Jada loves to be around people. She has become quite attached to my parents who watch her at least 2-3 times a week and more if they can. They love to have her around!
And, she just started saying “da-da” and “na-na”. Mostly, everything is a “da”.
I told Spencer, she referred to Cooper as da-da first!
She continues to be a blessing to us and our lives are filled with so much joy (and hard work) because of her. Being a parent is so rewarding, yet filled with anxiety! You wouldn’t believe the stuff you worry about once you become one! Parents, you feel me?
It IS worth it.
