Really? Half a year has passed since Jada was born? Does it seem possible that she is 6 months old?
At her 6 month check up, Jada weighed in at 18 lbs (79th percentile) and was 27.25 inches long (91st percentile). A healthy, happy baby. Feeling very blessed.
She is VERY interested when we eat, so we have begun to introduce real foods. So far, she likes sweet potatoes, spinach, apples, and pears. I use these safety spoons which a turn white when the food is too hot. And, this high chair is an affordable, a space saver that transitions to a booster seat.
She still isn’t sleeping through the night. She’ll give me 6 hours initially sleeping from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., but seems to wake up generally hungry (as indicated by sucking on my shoulder when I pick her up!). I also think if I am the one to check on her or try to put her pacifier back in her mouth, she still expects to eat.
By the way, we really like this baby monitor with night vision, and at $99 it was one of the most reasonable ones as well. Thanks for the rec Erin!
She still takes 2-3 naps a day. The morning naps are about 30 mins and done mostly in the YMCA child care area or with my parents, then at 2 p.m. she goes down for about 2 hours. She has been protesting of late, so I have to let her cry it out on occasion. No fun.
She is sitting up on her own and scooting all over. And, she is on all fours like she’s ready to pounce, so I’m anticipating seeing her crawl sooner than I’m ready!
The piano is another favorite of hers and my mom spends time playing and singing to her.
So proud of herself!
And, she’s trying to sing too. Lots of high pitched squeals, you may have seen on instagram.
Bath time continues to be a fun time for her, especially now that she can sit up and splash that water. Prepared to get wet! We got her these these Squirtin Sea Buddies to play with. Great for chewing too.
Lately, I have been spreading out a blanket on the floor and placing toys at the edges so she has to work on moving towards them. A hint from my BFF who is a pediatric OT too.
Sturdy books with interactive features 5 Little Ducklings are favorites for her, and they can survive all her grabbing!
Jada loves Cooper.
And, I think he likes her too!
Especially those baby toes…
She likes to help me feed him, then watch him eat.
