You probably have seen the quote, “Running is cheaper than therapy,” Yes?
For me, getting outside, catching some rays while walking Cooper, is my therapy.
Walking has become a necessity for me now. There are days, as the mom of a newborn, where I literally feel like all I do is feed Jada with not a moment to do anything else like laundry or even brush my hair.
But, each day I make sure I get outside, at least once, with Cooper and the BOB to walk. I love my sunshine and Cooper needs his exercise as much as I do! It’s part of my recovery.
Spencer’s first experience manning the BOB!
On Sunday, my parents, Cooper, Spencer, Jada and I enjoyed the heavenly weather for a 4 mile walk.
Ah, it was so good to be with my family and enjoying the gorgeous outdoors!
I was adding some miles to my new Reebok YourFlex Trainette 3.0’s. Yep. Still lightweight and supportive.
See how Cooper is keeping tabs on me? He HAS to be in the lead, but kept turning around to see where I was. Mama’s boy.
My dad loves to walk him.
This was the perfect start to my day! Jada slept the whole time, so I knew she’d be hungry once we finished and I’d probably be resigned to the couch for a good portion of the day.
But, when you get newborn cuddles like this, it makes the lack of sleep and diaper explosions worth it, right?
After this photo, Jada got a midday bath because she completely blew out her diaper! Good thing she’s cute (and the outfit is yellow!).
There are good days and some pretty challenging days during this stretch–note the bags under my eyes. It’s not all rainbows and unicorns!
But, we are only 2.5 weeks postpartum, so eventually a schedule will develop and we’ll have a routine.
Outfit #2 of the day!
Until then, my number one priority IS to feed Jada and not be concerned if I get to brush my hair or teeth!
