I loved reading your comments on Running During Pregnancy!
My intent was share what I have experienced and ultimately remind women we are all so different. With running, strength training, CrossFit, or yoga during pregnancy, it’s important that you listen to your body and be mindful of how YOU feel.
Teaching classes is still happening! My participants are awesome. Stepping back & coaching during some movements, like supine core work, gives me a chance to see how much they have improved!
And, I still get a nice workout.
I don’t always wear my Polar FT 40 heart rate monitor, but it does help me gauge how hard I’m pushing during some movements like half burpees, walking planks, or wood chops which tend to get my HR up fast.
Many of you have asked if I stick to the 140 bpm suggested for pregnant women.
No. That number doesn’t take into account exercise history or any preexisting conditions. I default to the talk test. If I can talk and my heart rate is above 140, then I’m okay. Again, everyone is different.
Feeling rounder lately…
I also have been picking the brain of our group fitness coordinator, Libby. She gave birth to a baby girl last June and inspires me daily. Looks amazing!
Libby teaches yoga and cycling too!
She also signed up for the ReebokONE program I talked about earlier for anyone in the fitness industry. The capris she’s modeling were on sale, AND she saved an additional 25%. If you teach fitness classes or are a personal trainer, you can sign up HERE and build your professional profile too.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend…
Baseball diamonds. 😉
The season is in full swing, so my family and I are planted at field for home weekends. We had gorgeous weather last weekend, got my tan on, and the Bluejays swept!
So blessed to spend time with my parents (and my brother too-not pictured).
A majority of the Midwest has taken a beating weather wise this spring, so I savored every sunny moment! Vitamin D, I love you.
1. What do you love MOST about warmer weather?
2. Do you wear a heart rate monitor or Garmin for workouts?
