Reebok: The Sport of Fitness

What is your sport? Mine has evolved over the years. I began with tennis. Always ran. Added softball, volleyball, basketball, and track & field. Softball landed me a college scholarship. After 4 years, my eligibility was up.

What is my sport, now?

Reebok has reinvented their image recently. I’m a huge fan of the phrase, “The Sport of Fitness”. There are no limitations. No timeline. No categories. Simply you choosing fitness–being an athlete for life. That’s exactly what I want.

The latest mantra from Reebok, “Live With Fire,” is equally awesome.  Another phrase that applies to all.

The video depicting this message is quite inspirational: Life doesn’t care what you look like or where you come from…simply join it! It’s only 60 seconds long, so check it out!

I was sent several products from the Reebok ONE apparel line that I already love.

Reebok Long Bra tank_ONE_1

The PWR Wide Strap Long Bra top, PWR Bootcut pant, and RealFlex Scream 2.0’s.

Reebok Long Bra tank_ONE_3

The PWR long bra top is a slim-fit, racer-back made from PlayDry material which removes moisture and aids in ventilation.

I love the length! Regular readers know I have to find workout clothing that fits my expanding belly. See?

24 weeks ripe.  So, this top fits me well now and will post baby too!

The PWR bootcut pants are equally comfortable with a wide waistband, 4-way stretch fabric and PlayDry material.

The one critique I have on the pants is the inseam length. I’m 5’8″ which isn’t super tall, but I have longer legs and the pants are just a tad short on my build.

How about these shoes?!

Reebok RealFlex Screams_running_1

The RealFlex Scream 2.0’s have the look, but how about performance?

Reebok RealFlex Screams_running_2

Cooper and I tested them on one of our runs. *Side note: I’m still running albeit a much slower pace than before, but running nonetheless!

Reebok RealFlex Screams_running

The Screams feel more supportive than the RealFlex Fusions. They are still made with independent, multi-directional flex nodes that move with your foot, naturally. Likewise, they are lightweight but offer a more stable feel for longer distances like tempo runs, 5ks and 10ks.

I’m stoked! My previous running shoes are well past their mileage, so I’m looking forward to using these! I still like the Fusion TR’s for CrossFit, HIIT workouts and teaching.

I feel good teaching in this gear. Confident. That’s very important to me. I want to project a healthy, fit image to my class participants and clients (and of course my readers!) during my pregnancy, and I have to admit that well designed clothing aids in that.

If I don’t feel comfortable in something (think sausage casing) then it’s tough to lead a class while seeing yourself “uncomfortable” in the mirror! Whatever our respective sizes may be, we all should have the chance to feel positive putting on our workout clothing to play our sport.

Your turn:
1. Do you have a sport that defines you right now?
2. How are you “living with fire”?

*FitFluential LLC compensated me for this campaign. All opinions are my own.

  1. Love that video…goosebumps!!! Well my sport was always softball….until it ended and running took it’s place! Anything that sets me on fire and gets me pumped!!!

  2. Loving the bump. Those Screams look pretty sweet as well. I am first and foremost always a runner, but fitness is a great way to put a second sport.

  3. My sport has changed over the years – big time. In college I played lacrosse. As an adult/mom I started running and that morphed into Triathlons. Now my OBSESSION is Crossfit. I’m LOVING what reebok has out there for us chicks!

    • What a great journey Ann! I think I’m always evolving too, but fitness and specifically CrossFit are WAY up there right now!! LOVE the Reebok line–super flattering and athletic!

  4. Cute stuff! Did you think the top was supportive enough without an additional sports bra? I always find I would like built in bras to be tighter. And now….I DEF feel the need to wear extra!
Crystal@TheFastFitRunner recently posted..Can the underprivileged eat healthy? My Profile

    • Hi Crystal! Great question! Built in bras are never supportive enough for me for my activities (CrossFit, running, HIIT), so I would double up on this one as well. 🙂

  5. I would have to say running is my ONE sport. I’ve definitely been expanding my repertoire over the past couple of months, including spin and crossfit and yoga, but it’s definitely my go to. I feel strongest running. I played softball for 3 years in middle school. Loved it!
I need more purple in my life – these shoes and top would be great additions 🙂

    • So glad you found a sport that empowers you and is your passion! And, aren’t the colors fun?! I’m normally not a purple person–but do love this top and shoes!

  6. I love their new phrase. THE SPORT OF FITNESS. After Boston, when my injury had brought my running to a screeching halt, it felt like losing my identity. After 4 months of “no activity” (per doctor’s orders), I knew I still couldn’t run, but had to do something. It was the beginning of finding a new me. Although I still can’t run without pain, I am doing so much more and my body & mind are stronger than ever. Biking, swimming, TRX, classes at my local Y and the elyptical have all become WHO I am! I have finally found the sport of FITNESS!

    • I’m so glad you can channel your injury into other avenues Michelle! An injury in running can be so devastating (as you know). Makes me smile to see you so well-rounded!! 🙂

  7. Yoga, swimming, and trail running have been my life long sports. At the current moment, yoga is the most active one due to snowy mountains and limited pool access. However, I did find a natural mineral hot-and-cold springs pool about 1 hour from here that I am excited to try!

Also, thanks for the length notes of clothing. Being tall always makes clothing options a fun finding experience!

  8. I love it, Jess — fit for life! I love that we can still be athletes, even if we’ve graduated from college sports or will never make it to the professionals 🙂

  9. Cute stuff Reebok! I am, always have been, a runner. I started in 6th grade since I couldn’t handle the aggressive side of sports that involved offense/defense. Fight or flight?!? FLIGHT! I teach a local couch to 5K class in our small town that allows me to share my passion. 🙂

  10. You look great! Glowing and healthy and so happy! I’ve recently taken up stroller running – well, my kids are a little big so I substitute a shopping cart. It’s always fun to see how much of a workout I can get in before they kick me out of Target.

  11. Nice work, Reebok! I will admit that I am a total Nike addict but this is a fantastic campaign. I love the phrase “the sport of fitness.” From childhood to my college years I played pretty much every team sport. But now days my life is all about fitness…mostly in the form of running & yoga. Competing against myself is such a different world. And I love it!

p.s. your bump is just too cute!!!!

    • I used to be one too because of it’s proximity but I’m in love the messages that Reebok is sharing. Not sport specific in the least–simply a way to live your life! And, thank you!! 🙂

  12. I’m still coaching high school tennis but I haven’t competed in tennis for a couple years now. That’s one thing that I have struggled with since graduating college- finding an outlet for my competitive nature. I love running but that is a sport against myself since I don’t foresee myself at the top of a medal podium anytime soon 😉 I love those Reebok clothes, it seems like they are really stepping it up lately.

    • That was my biggest challenge as an athlete: how to transition out of sport! So glad you can continue to inspire athletes through coaching–such a rewarding profession!!

  13. Love that video!! That is what it’s all about!

My go to sport is running, although in the past few years I’ve added biking, which I love too. I love a good challenge, and right now I’m focused on getting stronger inside and out. I’m enjoying the changes in my outer appearance, but on the inside I feel change too!

And I totally agree about the clothes. If I feel comfortable and they fit properly, I feel more confident on the run. No matter our size, we all deserve to feel confident in our own bodies!

    • Sounds like you have struck a great balance with running and biking! And, yes! Clothes should make us feel good about ourselves regardless of where we are in our journey!! 🙂

  14. My sport right now is running and good music sets me on fire! recently posted..Best Fitness Classes in the Bay AreaMy Profile

  15. You look so great! I really love that top on you. It’s so long! I’ll have to look closer at Reebok gear.

I’m 14 weeks and I just look thicker in the middle… not a good look for fitted gym wear. :/ Thank goodness for looser/blouse-y gym tops for teaching… I haven’t told my bosses or students yet, I don’t want them to think I’m getting out of shape!

I really love the idea of the ‘sport of fitness’. I was terrible at every sport I ever tried (still am!). I didn’t discover a love for fitness until I was an adult. I always laughed it off when anyone told me I was ‘athletic’. Campaigns like this make me happy… and I’m finally coming around to the idea that, perhaps, I’m athletic too!

    • Omigosh! I SO feel you! I felt this way as Christmas was approaching and totally thought my classes could tell I was packing on the lbs!

And, I agree–I think this campaign/slogan appeals to all. We can all find our “sport” and live our lives “on fire” however that may look! 🙂

  16. Running, CrossFit, SUP . . . . I think I am going out of my comfort zone to do a SUP race this year, I usually just float around on my board and daydream (which isn’t bad) but looking forward to a new challenge!
BTW, you look so cute with your 24 week belly!

  17. I am prior service Army, so naturally, I am good at running. I also played basketball and ran track in HS and since having both of my kiddos, I have focused on “living fit”. I have a FB page “Mission: To Be Fit”, dedicted to my weight loss journey post back to back pregnancies. I went from 122 at the beginning for my first pregnancy and 2 years later when I had my son, I was 200lbs. I am, most recently, down to 126, so fitness has been my journey. I don’t focus a sport or 1 or 2 workouts, I focus on having fun, incorporating my kids and living a long and healthy life.

  18. As I say on IG, you look adorable as always! LOVE the new line of Reebok gear…looks functional!

My sport I’d say is FITNESS so I love the sport of fitness! As for living with fire, I’d say just by pushing myself each day to be my very best…that’s all I can ask for, right?!

    • I appreciate your positivity so much Marissa!! And I love that you have found your ‘sport’! One that can be practiced for a lifetime!!

  19. Oh my goodness I love those shoes! They are so adorable! I’ve been on the hunt for some new tennis shoes, I will definitely have to check out Reeboks! 🙂
