Last year, Spencer and I celebrated New Year’s Eve in Arizona. It was the first time we really went out on NYE!

We celebrated in Scottsdale and hit up the Fiesta Bowl to cheer on my Cardinal a few days later! Had a blast!
This year, we stayed home in sweats and had sushi.
The Cali roll in brown rice from Trader Joe’s was pretty tasty for sushi to-go!
We made up for our night-in by hosting a New Year’s Day party filled with football and food…and lots of kiddos.
Cooper the baby whisperer…
This is my dear friend Anna and her family. We played softball together starting at age 11!
I didn’t get many food pics but we had hummus & veggies, turkey chili, pulled pork sliders, chips, cheese & crackers, the works. Ready for some football!
The Nebraska Huskers were on at noon followed by the Stanford Cardinal-both great games!
Cooper was amazing around all the kids. Part of that involved cleaning up any food they dropped though! But, I’m sure proud of him for being such a good boy!
Does it get more precious than this?
During the Stanford game, I felt they needed an extra push, so I put on my softball t-shirt to ensure a victory over Wisconsin!
We finished the night with this new card game called Cards Against Humanity. Oh my gosh–HILARIOUS. Hopefully, you don’t get easily offended because this game is not PC!
Seriously. I had tears…and so did Katie!
Coop had to make sure she was okay!
You can play it with as many people as you want and the goal is to try to get the person who is up to laugh the most! Simple, eh?
Your turn:
What’s your favorite game (drinking ones count too!)?
Favorite party food?

We always play Apple to Apples (it’s the PC version of Cards Against Humanity haha) and liar’s dice. Anything that makes you laugh is the best, right?

We just got that game and haven’t played it yet! Sounds like a good one for a diverse crowd!
lol – we also played Cards Against Humanity recently! Yea, that game is over the edge – haha!
The Fiesta Bowl was indeed great times last year!
The Rose Bowl was awesome as well this year – overall I’d say the Fiesta Bowl was more fun since I liked the stadium and atmosphere of the Fiesta Bowl more.

Wasn’t that amazing last year?! Just wish our Cardinal could’ve pulled it off!! Happy with a Rose Bowl “W” though!!
Aw, how sweet is Cooper?!
I noticed you recently started to refer to your husband as Spencer and no longer Coach : )
I love Apples to Apples, I think I need to check out Cards Against Humanity.
when I am drinking beer, I get the munchies, so anything good and crunchy-crackers and cheese, nuts, veggies & hummus…..
Yes! Once I made the announcement with our real names, I figured I’d just roll with it since I don’t actually call him “Coach”!
Apples to apples was a Christmas gift to us this year!!
I love playing Apples to Apples! And I really like food in general! But I really like buffalo chicken dip and only make it for supper bowl Sunday because then I have friends to help me eat it!

Apples to apples is a winner! I like the idea of making a special treat knowing you won’t be tempted to eat it all yourself!!
Omg I had the best New Years Ever. lol – I slept right through it to be honest. I had a 5am flight to catch and the fire works back home were canceled due to the windy weather. Typical Newfoundland
Glad you had a good NYE too!
ha ha! I think NYE can be over-hyped at times, don’t you?! Sorry there were no fireworks!!
