With summer winding down, many of you are solidifying your exercise routines whether that involves a 10k training plan, personal training sessions or home workouts.
I will be once again partnering with GNC to bring you regular workout routines that will not only challenge you, but assist you in reaching your fitness/physique goals in the convenience of your home. The GNC Summer series was a huge success, so we are going to move forward with a GNC fall series.
I strongly believe you can make progress in brief, intense workouts lasting 30 minutes or less. Most of my workouts involve interval work in the form of HIIT (high intensity interval training). This is also the method I use for my fitness classes.
For the GNC get STRONG & LEAN workout, you will need a set of dumb bells. I’m using 10 lbs in the video.
Each move will be performed for 20 seconds followed by a 10 second break for 1 round. Repeat for a total of 5 rounds or modify time/rounds to INCREASE or DECREASE intensity.
1. DB swings
2. Push-ups with toe tap
3. Single arm reverse lunges
4. Skull crushers in bridge pose
The timer (in the video) can be found here. I use it for all my classes, so I don’t have to count and can focus on form corrections and encouragement!
I am seriously going to wear through my Reebok CrossFit gear. I love the lightweight tank and shorts that I received at The Games (above). The Real Flex shoes are my go-to footwear for any running workout in CrossFit, and I use them to teach my classes as well.
What I’m Eating:
I love CrossFit and know it has enhanced my fitness and physique, but I haven’t committed to the Paleo Diet, yet. I try to find balance by choosing more protein and veggies when I can, but that doesn’t always happen. So, I was thankful for the GNC Total Lean 25 travel shakes during the Hood to Coast Relay that I used while traveling and for post-relay for recovery.
How I’m Supplementing:
I have increased my fish oil pill intake, taking 2-3 at lunch and dinner. I’m still using the GenetixHD plan because I flat-out love the results I have seen. There are days I only use ProSculpt or only use Meta-Ignite, but for a majority of the time, I incorporate all three products into my routine.
Now that fall is around the corner, what are you looking forward to most?
Do you have any favorite fall foods?
