Red, White, & Blue (dress) + Weekly Workouts

Happy Independence Day! I’m so proud to be an American. Go USA!
Last week, I made an emergency tweet and instagram request:
I was shopping for a dress for a wedding in Colorado and needed help stat!
There was no real consensus, so here is the winner:
Blue won! I sized down (see comments above) and added a belt for structure.

I got this dress from Target and it’s an x-small. Let’s be clear; I’m not an x-small. And, I got the black one too (only $25). I know there will be something I need it for.

Weekly Workouts:

The Runner’s World Run Streak ends today. 38 days straight! Did you make it? I did with at least 1 mile per day!

Thursday: 2 miles with Cooper before a 9 hour drive to Colorado. My ankle was really stiff so I was weak-sauce.

Friday: 3.5 mile “whipped cream” run in Breckenridge. Hellooooo altitude. 10,000 feet is no joke.

Saturday: #CrossFitGNC WOD with Coach. + 2 mi warm-up.

Sunday: 2 mile run with Cooper that night. I was tired after the 9 hour drive back and a festive wedding weekend.

Monday: 6 mile run in the heat. Hilly.

Tuesday: 3 miles + playground WOD: 10 knees to elbows & 20 bench jumps x 5

Wednesday:  2.5 miles total. Playground WOD with Coach. 5 rounds:

  •      10 hanging knees to elbow using play ground rings
  •      10 park bench jumps
  •      10 decline push-ups on park bench
  •      10 step-ups on park bench (ea. leg)
  •      10 jumping pull-ups (Coach did full)
  •      1 lap around park ~400 m.

Can you smell us?

This workout took us about 30 minutes and we were sweaty beasts (video demo to come). I wouldn’t have pushed myself had it not been for Coach.

Comments

  1. You look great in all the pics! And seriously, I love cheap Target finds–that one is perfect on you.

I have been at the shore for the past few days (going back tomorrow, boo) and loving it here. Got in a monster workout yesterday and a nice 8 miles today. More tomorrow before going home.

  2. I want to work out in a park like that so bad! Maybe I should add it to my Fitness Bucket List, haha. It’s such an easy goal, I just need to go and do it. :) Happy 4th!

  9. Ashley Nelson says:

I found your site through Pbfingers and I LOVE IT!! what type of shoes do you use when running outside? I run a lot on a concrete (not the best but im in the city.) right now I’m using Adidas climacool and they are not the best.

    • Hi Ashley! Thanks for stopping by! I alternate between Nike Free 3.0′s and Brooks Pure Flows for my running shoes. The Frees work well on the treadmill as they don’t wear down as fast as outside. The Pure Flows have a 4 mm heel drop and feel amazing!

  10. You look gorgeous in the blue dress, beautiful pictures, makes me want to take a trip to Colorado.

I ran a July 4th Marathon in Portland and qualified for Boston for the first time, so it was a great day for me!

  11. woww that view is just goorrrrgeous!!! :D And yayy haha, I was gonna say that the light blue is my pick.

  12. Great pics! Love the dress!

For the Fourth, I ran with my littlest lady in the jogger early in the morning. It was a pretty run!!

  13. Yeah, I’m going to Target tomorrow to find that blue dress! I’m so jealous you’re in Colorado, I’m sweating my butt off in Dallas!!
