I’m at The CrossFit Games watching The Fittest Men & Women on Earth compete!
CrossFit is all about the unknown, but athletes were still thrown for a loop when Games director, Dave Castro, announced Day 1 of individual competition would be Wednesday, not Friday! What?!
They were called to duty at Camp Pendleton, a federal base and training grounds for U.S. Marines.
They had to complete at a 700m swim in the Pacific, 8k bike across rugged terrain, and a 11.3k hike/run through [up] Pendleton’s hills.
After an hour of rest, the athletes completed the Camp Pendleton School of Infantry Obstacle Course [O-Course] in heats of 4; 3 rounds, the winner of each round advancing to the next.
The athletes are amazing and so composed. Nothing phases them. It can’t, or it will defeat them.
You can watch them LIVE on ESPN3 Friday-Sunday.
I’m beyond grateful to FitFluential and CrossFit Games sponsor GNC for this opportunity.
I will be tweeting live so you can follow #CrossFitGNC and #2012RCFGames for updates. And, you can bet I will using my instagram account to capture pictures during the weekend!
Thank you to Reebok for outfitting me in some killer threads for the weekend as well! Stylin’!
Will you be tuning into The Games this weekend?
What is the scariest, hardest exercise you have ever done…or would do?!

Can’t wait for the games!!!! I will totally be tuning in all weekend! Can’t wait for all the Fitfluential Recaps too! Have the best time ever!
Thank you Danielle! I’m so excited to witness these athletes in person! Very grateful and blessed!
Dang ABS!? What the heck! Awesome! =)
Yeah! That might be an 8-pack…or even a 10!
Some tickets fell into my lap this morning, and we were able to get last-minute flights with points, so Josh, my mom, and I will be out there late Friday night! Super excited to be able to watch the last two days. Have never experienced the Games as a spectator before – will be cool to enjoy the weekend without any stress.
Look for me at any food vendor with bacon on the menu…

Hi Kat-so glad we connected via twitter! You can be sure I’ll check it out!
That’s crazy! However, I would think a tri would be a piece of cake for these crossfitters.
They train for anything, but this looks ridic!
Yes! Will be watching the games this weekend. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for blonde, ponytailed spectators
Many of my CrossFit workouts are scary and hard!!! Yet I keep begging for more!
I think that’s what’s so intriguing and addictive–fear and then seeing you CAN do it!
Ohhhh a triathlon? I like it!
Awesome that you get to check it out. Have fun.
Yes! The individuals resume tomorrow!
Oh, you know, just start the thing off easy, just a triathlon. What??! Crazy. I can’t wait to hear about the experience from all you folks! Can’t wait to hear more. And those abs on those ladies? Insane.
Seriously! A tri then an O-course then anything else!
Wow! This looks incredible. Those women in the water…holy abs!! I’m going to do some ab work right now!!!
Right?!! Motivating!
I am defintitely going to catch the Cross Fit games this weekend. I am so excited for you and the opportunity you have to be there covering it live!! I am really enjoying your GNC Workout Challenge series! And btw, you look FANTASTIC!!!
Oh thank you Leticia-so glad you like the series! Round 2 will be coming up with a weekly schedule of workouts!
so exciting!! have a blast
This first event had you all over it girl!
Queston…I was listening to the phonecast of the first event and they were saying a few had dropped out early on in the swim and their “games were over”. I don’t know how that works, but by dropping out of the first event are they done for the entire games or do they just get no points for that event?
Yes, I believe the “WD” on the Games site indicates they are done
Oh wow…that stinks!!!
Do the athletes get 1 flipper or what is it that they’re carrying?
2 I believe.
Holy freaking abs!
I know!!! washboard!
Jeez…It’s like the freaking Hunger Games without the crazy mutant animals, and with abs of steel. WOW!!!
ha ha! Good call–they likely would win!
