2012 CrossFit Games: Interviews & Training

I’m so glad you are enjoying the recaps of The CrossFit Games. I seriously struggled trying to translate the excitement and athleticism I witnessed into words.

We left off with the Fittest on Earth taking their respective places on the podium.

I’m really proud of CrossFit Omaha athletes representing with the 12th fittest woman and 3rd fittest man.

Stacie Tovar & Kyle Kasperbauer

It will be fun to see them at the box training now that Coach and I have joined.

After closing ceremonies, Scott, Gina (Scott’s wife), Joe and I were kind of at a loss. What do we do now?

Reebok generously provided all the fans FREE food and beverages post-ceremony, so there was quite a gathering. Joe and I did one last run through the expo, but everything was pretty much packed up.

We were simply waiting for the Reebok bus, when Kelly called and asked us if we’d like to head over and talk to Fittest Men & Women….YES!

We raced around the stadium and finally located the athletes.  All of the men were still there, so Joe asked them,

“What do you plan to do tomorrow?”

Julie Foucher was the lone remaining woman.

I asked her the following:

  1. What she plans to do tomorrow
  2. How many rest days she plans to take
  3. Is her training cyclical in nature.

Disregard my overly loud voice-sorry! Julie was so sweet and patient…and gorgeous, girl crush? Maybe.

Joe followed up with a few more questions to Rich Froning, and asked if he could wear the gold medal (I embellish).

So, what does the Fittest Man on Earth eat after 4 days of intense competition?

Pizza of course! Paleo, what? I appreciated seeing that. You can’t be on point ALL-THE-TIME.

The momentum from the Games followed me home where Coach and I hit up CrossFit.

Again, I am so grateful to FitFluentialGNC and Reebok for a trip I will never forget.  Thank you for following along with me! Now, back to reality.

  5. That is so incredibly awesome! The trip sounds like it was a blast and a half. And I loved your questions. Its good to know they indulge too ;) I guess we’re all human, and your right we can’t have our diet perfect 24/7, its unrealistic and a little boring!

  6. I’m loving these recaps of the Crossfit games. It’s something that I haven’t had the nerve to try yet (except for at home), but hopefully one day. What an amazing experience you must have had!

  7. I’m still SUPER jealous that I missed out on this! Great questions and great answers!
