Hi readers! I’m finally back to my routine after a fabulous holiday break. I know I have been slacking in the blog posting AND reading department, but I plan to catch up this weekend — I’ll have time too as Coach and I decided to eliminate cable as part of our 2012 goals to save money.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve in Arizona and savored every +70* day. Heaven.

Before the festivities, we made sure to get a workout in. I did a 3 mile treadmill workout and some strength training to follow using My Moves. New page above!
We celebrated with one of Coach’s baseball buddies and his wife. Rock star couple that made the trip a HUGE success!

Mill Avenue in Tempe, AZ was hopping with live music and entertainment. After strolling we made our way to The Big Bang, a dueling pianos bar, to ring in the new year.
There was a singing battle between the Stanford and Oklahoma State fans throughout the night.
Coach even got to represent for us Stanford folks as he was referred to as Tiger (Woods). The owner gave us a round of free drinks for his skills on the microphone and for being surrounded by blondes.

I can’t reveal many more pictures as the night got VERY ANIMATED, shall we say? We had a blast actually celebrating NYE. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for ringing in the new year on my couch at home, but this was a fun change.

Next, gearing up for the Fiesta Bowl. (Yes, I know the outcome and can’t stand the color orange right now, no offense.)
Are you back on schedule for 2012? I am playing catch-up at work and battling this dang head cold.

Looks like you had a seriously awesome break.
We got rid of cable last year and I don’t really miss it at all. Now we just watch netflix streaming if we want to watch tv. Or something on the 10 channels we still get.

Those mojitos look perfect. I’m glad that you had a good night out – last year I did the whole night out thing, so this year I did the couch!

The Big Bang bar sounds seriously like an awesome time! I went to a piano bar in New Orleans (Pat OBriens) and that place is my favorite bar I’ve ever been to! Hilarious on the singing contest between OSU and Stanford fans, haha

We spent NYE in downtown Scottsdale (Old Town), it was a great time. We went to Mill Ave on Tuesday afternoon before heading home. Cool to check out ASU!

Looks like you had a blast in AZ. My hubby and I are eliminating our cable this year too. Who needs TV when you can watch everything on the internet?

the last time i was at a piano bar some crazy girl who was way over served was dancing on the piano and in her drunken stuper fell off of the piano onto the musician and knocked him out cold. yikes it was strange.
we’ve been seriously considering forgoing cable in our house this year as well, just haven’t been brave enough to pull the trigger yet.

I’m finally getting back on schedule! Your trip looks like so much fun! Oh how I wish it would stay warm here. It’s been nice the past few days, but the weatherman says cold weather is coming tomorrow!
